The disgraceful cash grab by the Labor Government in Victoria

The Bracks/Brumby Labor Government in Victoria continue to blatantly ignore public protest about the unfairness of Stamp Duty on property.
Not only has Victoria one of the very highest rates of revenue collecting in Australia, but they even continue their greedy grab for cash on pensioners, the unemployed, and anyone that has such a low income that they are granted a Health Care Card by the Federal Government to alleviate the cost of living.

Treasurer John Brumby describes Stamp Duty concessions thus... The enhanced scheme is among the most generous of all jurisdictions, with Victoria the only State to provide such broad assistance to concession cardholders.

Gee, that sounds wonderful, it probably sounded great to the opposition when it went through Parliament too, but perhaps between the passing and the implementation, this Act has been fudged out of all fairness and justness.

Putting the Act into practise means that if a Health Card Holder purchases a property valued at $150,000 then the concession granted will be the full charge of $4,660, this is very fair!
But if a property is purchased at $170,000, which is what I did, then the fairness dissapears straight into State Coffers. The difference between the Duty on $150,000 and $170,000 is $1,200 ... but the charge that is levied by the State Revenue Office is actually $3,064!!!
Therefore the concession rebate granted on $150,000 was $4,660
and the concession rebate granted on $170,000 was less at $2,796
how can the concession possibly be less?
Only a Labor Politician could possibly implement such an unfair and greedy scheme that must be a completely deceptive reversal of the intention that was passed through legislation.
