The Constitutional Issue
17 Feb 1998
Forget about the divisive issues raised by the Constitutional Convention; a republic or a monarchy, a president or a prime minister, look beyond to the state of the nation.
Would you rather live under a monarchy with the highest foreign debt per capita in the world? Or, would you rather live in a republic with the highest foreign debt per capita in the world?
Old chinese proverb say, when offered choice of two, take third!
The third choice would be to utilise and restore the full protection that our constitution was designed to have. Our founding fathers foresaw the many problems of today's Australia, they built in many checks and balances to maintain democracy and liberty for the people.
Along the path from Federation to now, treacherous parliaments and courts have distorted and ignored the constitution to deliver Australia and it's wealth to the "money power". Courageous, wise politicians with integrity like Frank Anstey and Jack Lang campaigned vigorously against the "money power" of "the City"of London.
"The City" was, and still is, the largest financial empire in the world, it has never relinquished it's power and control over the dominion of Australia! The economic warfare that it invokes is the real "republic" issue for every debt ridden nation on earth; debt, globalisation, privatisation, dictated policies and sovereignty transfers are the modern means to conquer nations!
A republic or a monarchy must be for the people, without liberty and economic freedom we are shackled by debt! King O'Malley and Denison Miller knew all about real freedom when they set up the Common-wealth bank for the people, a bank now lost by the "money power" agents within our own government.
True self government, without the dictates of the power abusive two party system should now be the goal for all Australians, we have lost ownership of our wealth, our industry, and our economic freedom that our pioneers fought and died for, take the trouble to research and ponder these vital matters, learn of the 75 plus non elected, secretive think tanks that are writing government guidelines on globalisation, privatisations and other anti-national policies for the "money power" at our expense and Australia's demise as a country of wealth and opportunity.
Instead of re-writing our constitution and it's tri-partite system of democracy with it's 1000 years of wisdom and learning, we should be looking at enforcing the protection of liberty and democracy that it was designed for.
